Baltic Rush

Baltic Rush

Product Information

Aquatic Pond Plant - Common Name: Baltic Rush - Scientific Name: Juncus Balticus

This listing is for one Baltic Rush plant in a plant starter pot.

This is a hardy pond plant – that can left in the pond year round.  This aquatic plant is often used in wetlands.

 * Hardy to zone 4 (-25 degrees F)
 * Direct sun to medium shade
 * Height to 6" to 12"
 * Bloom:  Brown Flower (cylinder shape) - late summer
 * Submerge pot 0"- 3" below surface of water - place plant roots in the water, and plant foliage above water level
 * Hydroponic Grown  - there are NO Diseases to worry about - grown outside in Direct Sun and Partial Shade early in day

Grown in a traditional soil mix for starter pots.  It is recommended to transplant into a larger container before placing into the pond.

This is a one of my favorites - small wire like blades stand firm in the edge of the pond, since it fills in areas well it is great to cover vacant areas - give this plant time to grow and it will not dissapoint you.  Use it to set your pond a part from other ponds you have seen.

Remember, all rushes and sedges consume vast amount of nutrients and compete directly with the algae in ponds and helps reduce - dramatically - the phosphate and nitrogen in the pond water.  Hence the pond owner spends much less time involved in taking care of the pond.
